Cresendo (I always have this as one of my Dailies)Ĭhoosing between Slam, Spinning Strike and Avalanche of Steel can sometimes be a tough decision.Daring Shout is another option that can be used to help build Determination if you find you aren’t building it very fast, it also provides a nice debuff.Restoring Strike can be swapped with Battle Fury or Dagger Throw if you tend to die a lot, but will do less damage (I will explain later that there are other ways to stay alive without sacrificing DPS).Using Weapon Master Strike to buff Sure Strike makes this combo particularly effective and there really are not any other At-Wills that are better in my opinion. Stat priority for DPS GWF is Armor Pen, Crit, Recovery and Power. You should prioritize Strength, then Dexterity, followed by Constitution. Human and Woof Elf can do well as GWF also with Humans +2 to any Ability Score and Wood Elf increased Crit Chance and +2 Dexterity bonus (plus resistance to slow, which comes in handy for melee). Dragonborn has additional stats and Power, while Half-Orc has good Ability Score bonuses (Strength and Dexterity). If you want to be more of a full out hard-hitting damage dealer, I prefer to use the following abilities and feat build.īy far I believe the best classes for GWF is either Dragonborn or Half-Orc. As I mentioned before, GWF does have decent support abilities that debuff the mobs for your team, but I think this play style works better at lower gear ilvl since you most likely will be lower in DPS anyways until you get some gear. I’ve discovered that the Encounters you use can be flexible and dependent on the fight and group make up.
The following is my build and personal opinion of GWF play style. The GWF also has great team support capabilities, but I prefer to go all out DPS most of the time if there is a good healer or tank in the group. I love the fast paced action and huge two-handed weapon. I usually end up healing or tanking in most MMOs I have played, but I also enjoy melee DPS and the GWF has not disappointed me.
